BIG BRAZOS SUSTAINABLE FARM NEEDS HELP!
Big Brazos owner, David, is in Milam county and the Appraisal District is claiming he is not Ag Exempt for 2020 even though he grew hay and sold it. He needs an attorney and donations to handle the taxes and fines until he can prove his ag-exempt status.
David is a hard-working, valuable farmer for Austin and the surrounding markets, growing tomatoes, pecans, okra, watermelon, cantaloupe, etc. He drives over 3 hours to market each week. Having farmed for over 40 years, he has been with us for 7. As he is a regular source of joy, we LOVE him!
What is needed:
1. Financial assistance, either directly to him, through GoFundMe (6% on fees), or you can also call us to run a card (every penny goes directly to him).
2. Pro Bono legal aid

GEORGETOWN PECAN is back by popular demand. Dennis will be back with his famous pecans starting this weekend so get in line for your favorites.
Start asking your favorite vendors about pre-orders for the Holidays. Michelle’s Best Bread Ever and Caro’s Cocina will be taking orders for pies, Big Brazos and Georgetown Pecan will be selling massive amounts of pecans for the next few months, Rogue’s Over the Top Pierogi will be doing a whole spread, and Dan the Apple Man will be selling the rest of his apples until the 2nd week of December!

Rain or shine, we’re always celebrating our weekly, open-air market with fresh foods, live music, kids entertainment, specialty events, festivals, a cafe for breakfast or lunch, and a great community vibe.
FRESH PRODUCE DAIRY AND MEATS
Our market features local growers of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, plants, flowers, herbs and artisan cheese makers. Our local ranchers bring antibiotic and hormone free chicken, beef, lamb, goat, pork, bison and fresh fish to the market. Our meats are grass fed and grass finished, unlike the grocery store meats that may be labelled grass-fed but usually is fattened up on grains, thus not grass finished. We have organic pasture raised eggs, low temperature, non-homogenized milk, raw cheeses, delicious yogurt, probiotic vegetables. We even have freshly milled flour and cornmeal from Richardson Farms grains!

Don’t want to cook? Then shop our freshly prepared specialty foods from all across the world – including an abundance of gourmet flavors from all over the world. Our prepared food vendors use our farmers’ products as much as possible. We emphasize organically grown, healthful foods and preparation in addition to being delicious.

With spring comes the aliveness of fragrant flowers, fresh spinach, asparagus, carrots, garlic, onions, greens, green beans, squashes, strawberries, blackberries, new potatoes – all from the Texas countryside.
There’s nothing like the hot Texas sun to produce the most delicious fruits and vegetables: beets, basil, tomatoes, tomatillos, squashes, potatoes, peppers, okra, black eyed peas, eggplant, cucumbers, garlic, parsley, onions, mint, peppers, peaches, figs, melons (all kinds!), cantaloupes, watermelon, blueberries, grapes.
